United Nations Industrial Development Organization
Yemen has joined the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) since 1985 and our country contributes with the Arab countries in the Organization to play an active role in formulating policies and strategies to support industrial development in the Arab region in general and Yemen in particular.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has supported some industrial and development projects in the Republic of Yemen, especially projects related to the development of industrial cities, as well as supporting the improvement of the production and export of some Yemeni agricultural products such as Yemen’s grapes and coffee.
In 2009, UNIDO presented a project to enhance the productivity and commercial capacities of the Yemeni economy in order to help Yemen to benefit from its accession to the World Trade Organization.
