United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs

The interest of the Republic of Yemen in the areas related to the work of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs has been demonstrated through Yemen’s ratification of a number of international conventions on the organization of space and communications activities. Yemen has ratified the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in Median to explore and use outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies Which is known as the Outer Space Treaty of 1967. Yemen also ratified another set of international conventions and treaties on space affairs, such as: the Treaty Banning Nuclear Weapon Tests in the Atmosphere, Outer Space and Underwater, the International Agreement on the International Telecommunication Satellite Organization, the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Regime of the International Organization for Space Communications (Intersputnik), The Arab Organization for Satellite Communications (ARABSAT), as well as the Constitution and Convention of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
